This study seeks a better understanding of possible pathophysiological mechanisms associated with cognitive impairment and dementia in Parkinson's disease using structural functional MRI. We investigated resting-state connectivity important subdivisions the caudate nucleus, putamen thalamus, also how morphology these structures are impacted disorder. found cognitively unimpaired subjects (n = 33), compared to controls 26), display increased dorsal caudate, anterior mediodorsal thalamic areas across frontal lobe, as well reduced posterior cortical cerebellar regions.
